Abstract

The Health Profile serves as a vital source of information for supporting the planning, decision-making, monitoring, and evaluation of health development. Data management for the Health Profile at the South Sulawesi Provincial Health Office faces various challenges, particularly regarding data completeness, timeliness, consistency, governance, and human resource capacity. This study aims to analyze the management of Health Profile data at the South Sulawesi Provincial Health Office. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, with the study conducted from February to April 2026. Research informants included the Head of the Program Sub-division, Health Information System administrators, and data managers from divisions such as health services, health human resources, disease prevention and control, and public health, as well as regency/city Health Profile managers. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and document review, and subsequently analyzed using a descriptive qualitative approach. The results indicate that while Health Profile data management is being implemented, it is not yet optimal. Key issues include data incompleteness, reporting delays, and data inconsistencies across sources and platforms. The implementation of standard operating procedures lacks uniformity across units and regencies/cities, and capacity building for data managers through training has been uneven. Verification and validation processes—involving cross-checks, clarifications, and desk validation—are still heavily reliant on inter-unit coordination and manual checks. Health Profile data management requires strengthening through procedural standardization, human resource capacity building, optimized information system integration, and periodic monitoring and evaluation to enhance data quality and support the timely publication of the Health Profile.
