Faktor Yang Berhubungan Dengan Kebiasaan Merokok Pada Anak Remaja Di SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Makassar

Smoking habits in Indonesia are considered normal, even though written information about the dangers of smoking has been conveyed, but people still do not pay attention to it. According to World Health Organization data, worldwide, there are an estimated 1.26 billion smokers, and more than 200 million of them are teenagers. Among male teenagers, 55% of those who are motivated to smoke are influenced by cigarette advertising and the environment. This study aims to identify the factors associated with smoking habits among teenagers at Muhammadiyah 3 Makassar High School in 2023. This type of research employs a quantitative approach using the Simple Random Sampling method. The study population consisted of all male students at Muhammadiyah 3 Makassar High School, totaling 87 individuals, and a sample of 87 individuals was selected using the total random sampling method. From the results of the study, it was found that there was a relationship between knowledge and smoking habits in teenagers at Muhammadiyah 3 Makassar High School in 2023, namely (p = 0.000 <α = 0.05). There is a relationship between attitudes and smoking habits in adolescents at Muhammadiyah 3 Makassar High School in 2023, namely (p = 0.000 <α = 0.05). There is a relationship between a history of smoking parents and smoking habits in adolescents at Muhammadiyah 3 Makassar High School in 2023, namely (p = 0.000 <α = 0.05). There is a relationship between a history of smoking friends and smoking habits in adolescents at Muhammadiyah 3 Makassar High School in 2023, namely (p = 0.000 <α = 0.05). There is a relationship between cigarette advertisements and smoking habits in adolescents at Muhammadiyah 3 Makassar High School in 2023. The conclusion is that knowledge, attitudes, history of smoking parents, history of smoking friends, and cigarette advertisements have a significant relationship with smoking habits.
