Abstract

Closed fractures of the left tibia and fibula due to an accident can cause acute pain that disrupts mobility and patient recovery. Murottal Al-Qur’an therapy can be used as a non-pharmacological treatment to help reduce pain and provide a relaxing effect. This case study aims to find out the effectiveness of murottal Al-Qur’an therapy in reducing pain intensity in patients with closed fractures of the left tibia and fibula in the Emergency Department. This case study uses a descriptive approach with the application of nursing care on a patient who had a closed fracture of the left tibia and fibula. The intervention given was therapy using the recitation of the Qur’an, Surah Ar-Rahman, for about 20 minutes via a mobile phone. Pain intensity was measured using the Numeric Rating Scale before and after the Qur’an recitation therapy. Results: The case study showed a decrease in pain intensity after the Qur’an recitation therapy. The patient's pain scale dropped from 7 (severe pain) to 4 (moderate pain). The patient appeared more relaxed, less restless, more comfortable, and more cooperative during treatment in the Emergency Room. Conclusion: Al-Qur’an murattal therapy is effective in helping reduce pain intensity in patients with closed fractures of the left tibia and fibula.
